Jago Court

Welcome....
to the Jago Court Electronic Noticeboard

This website is aimed equally at those who are new to Jago Court and  those who have lived here for some time. Whether you are local or from further afield, we hope to provide you with some background and pointers to help your's and everybody else's stay an enjoyable experience.

We all know what a fantastic place this is to live and what a good crowd of people live here - perfect ingriedients for a great community!

We can all benefit by knowing more about the development and local area, so if there is something you would like to add or point out, please let us know and we'll try to include it on the website.
Hot Topics
Parking
Please park only in your allocated space(s) and not somebody else's. Be sure to notify any visitors that they should not use other residents parking spaces.

Also, please no parking on the pavements on the left of the entrance road by the houses. It makes it difficult for pedestrians (especially mothers with prams), and impossible for the emergency services to get through.
Recycling
Fortunately the council have changed their collection policy in 2008, and now made provision for recycling cardboard and clean plastic bottles. Please make sure the correct items are placed into the correct recycling container for collection.
Smoking
All communal areas of the development are smoke free. At a recent Directors meeting it was agreed to install some Terocotta pots with sand in them next to the bin stores. Would all smokers please try to use these areas rather than the entrance doors for smoking (discarding butts into the new pots once they are on site!). Thankyou.
Noise
Although we're very lucky and noise pollution doesn't seem to be a major problem at Jago Court (good build quality contributing to this), please be considerate and try to keep noise levels to a reasonable level, especailly late at night. Small things like stopping the doors from slamming all contribute to a good nights sleep!
History of the Development
The Land
Prior to Berkeley Homes purchasing the land for Deveolpment in 2004, it had been home to Sandleford Hospital, which was built in 1948.

On completion of the new West Berks Hospital, and transfer of all patients and services, Sandleford was flattened and today's development commenced.
Berkeley Homes
Berkeley Homes are a well established and respected developer, famous for high design and build standards.

Founded in 1976, it has a turnover of over £500 million, and in recent years has been noted for many urban regeneration schemes.

 Play area  Spring bulbs     Gardens

This is being maintained and there are are no problems to report.
Hopefully some of you will have noticed and appreciated the planting of spring bulbs this year. The daffodils are trying their best but unfortunately recent high winds meant we have had a few casualties!
The gardens are being maintained to their high standard by Ray and his team, and our appreciation goes out to them.

He's a cheery chap so always say 'Hello' to him and his old black labrador Keller.
Those of you with a keen eye might even seen the small number of Tulips coming through......
